The Apple Marina Bay Sands is completely surrounded by water and provides clear, uninterrupted 360-degree panoramic views of the city and its stunning skyline. The sphere is a first-of-its-kind, completely self-supported all-glass dome structure, composed of 114 pieces of glass with only 10 narrow vertical mullions for structural link. As the third retail location for Apple in Singapore, the new store produces an exciting, unforgettable space for customers.

An oculus at the dome’s top, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, offers an overflowing ray of light that passes through space. The interior of the glass is lined with custom baffles, each specially designed to offset the angles of the sun and provide an illusion of nighttime illumination. The green garden city of Singapore spills through the store with trees surrounding the interior of the roof, creating extra shade and subtle shadows through the foliage.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open the breathtaking Apple Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, building on our commitment to this special place that began more than 40 years ago,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail + People. “Our passionate and talented team is ready to welcome this community to our new store and deliver the care and support that our customers around the world love.”

Visitors entering the store experience a stunning unveiling in the dome’s vast volume, where they can discover selected Apple items and gadgets, get personal technological assistance from Geniuses, or simply admire the spectacular view of Marina Bay. The Forum is centered around a Video Wall that will serve as the venue for Today at Apple sessions featuring singers, performers, and developers from Singapore. Entrepreneurs and developers interested in obtaining training and guidance will connect with Apple’s staff in Apple’s first boardroom underwater, situated at the store’s lower level.
