Volkswagen posted a video of Herbert Diess, its chairman, accompanying Tesla CEO Elon Musk on a test drive of its electric hatchback, ID.3.

The meeting was held in Germany near the automaker’s headquarters over the weekend, while Musk was in the country to visit Tesla’s upcoming factory near Berlin as well as speak with politicians and executives about the company’s collaboration with Curevac to build “RNA microfactories.”

Musk can be seen in the short video pushing the four-door car out of an airport hangar, and around what seems to be an airport.

“It’s not a race machine,” says Diess at one point.

“I just wanted to see what the acceleration was like,” Musk replies.

He hits as much as 106 kilometers per hour at one point or some 65 miles per hour.

“I think for a non-sporty car it’s pretty good,” Musk said concerning the handling and steering of the car. The two also explored equipment for lane-keeping and emergency-assistance.

“Just to be clear: We just drove the ID.3 and had a chat — there is no deal/cooperation in the making,” Diess said in his LinkedIn post.
